Ebook About Toma’s older brother, Seiya, asks Taichi to find out why Toma doesn’t want to go to college. On the day of Toma’s release from the hospital, Taichi still hasn’t found a way to broach the subject with Toma. Meanwhile, Futaba discovers Taichi’s birthday is coming up, and she decides to invite the group to a fireworks festival so they can all celebrate.Book Blue Flag, Vol. 4 Review :
Volume 4 was one of the volumes that had me clenching the book and screaming at the characters wishing for them to finally say what they wanted to say. Toma sitting there literally on the verge of telling Taichi how he feelings about him and not saying anything had me happy and frustrated, like, please, just tell him already. If only. The scene in Toma’s room was amazing and I loved every moment of it from the silly fall to the wrong impression about who Toma had an crush on to the board game and reflection. It was sweet. The rest of the volume was good. I enjoyed the festival and enjoyed what happened at the end. Will be interesting to see what happens next for the four protagonists. Toma's friends, his older brother Seiya, and his sister-in-law, Akiko, welcome him upon his release from his hospital stay. I saw a bit of the family dynamics in Toma's home. Seiya wants Toma to attend college, but his concerns do not communicate well with Toma.I enjoyed seeing more of the dynamics in the friendships between Toma, his popular school friends, the baseball team, Taiichi, Futaba, and Masumi. Toma's popular friends experience the pain and disappointment of unrequited love and realization that they are not at the center of his social circle.During a shopping trip, Toma and Futaba confide in each other their feelings about identity and personal growth. Toma's words and actions from the past had such a great impact on Futaba's realization of her own potential. At the summer festival, Toma and Masumi struggle with their feelings about the romances of their friends and classmates. I enjoyed seeing the parallel storytelling in the conversations before the fireworks show between Futaba and Taiichi and that of Toma and Masumi. The latter two experience bittersweet feelings of heartbreak and hope for their best friends' happiness.
